peace is our biggest asset

A gathering of young people from Chitral, escaping the cold, was held at F 7 islamabad. It was unanimously felt that the biggest asset of Chitral is the peace that we enjoy there. The value of this asset is increasing in the same proportion at which other places of Pakhtoon Khawa are suffering from the scourge of terrorist activities. These young people vowed to be the defenders of this asset and said that they were sure that as long as the people of Chitral own and defend the peace that they enjoy no one else can disturb it.

Lowari Tunnel

The road over Lowari has opened. You need not use the tunnel if you do not want to.

Very little work has been done inside the Lowari tunnel in 2009 as well as 2010. There is no electrification, no ventillation< there is water seeping from above and there is water standing below.  Even then we Chitralies are grateful for being able to access our homes in winter.  Something however must be done by our political representatives to make the government aware that a very important project like the Lowari Tunnel has been put on the back burner. Even the Austrians are complaining that they are not being paid in time for their work.
